Godzilla was a bit different today- totally different format, like a documentary of the events that happened (terrorists release mutations from Monster Island)..it was a bit cool but sadly without the music and traditional format I didn't get my usual heroic vibes from the show ;) I muddled around with DataComm for a bit, called Choon b4 going out for lunch with Dad, then when I got home I continued at it until 2 something (I even called Li Hao a couple times for help hehe), which was when I slept until 6 something..I've been so tired yesterday and today, and don't understand why. I was tempted not to go Khylin's house since Boon Peng wasn't around, but since Khylin is flying off tomorrow morning and won't be coming back until next November(!) I had to go..we played around with his Fujitsu Lifebook (its half the regular size, got a Crusoe processor too)- it only cost him RM4700 which I think is a good price, I hope when I shop for a notebook in December (something cheap less than RM4000) I can get something like that. We talked a bit, his whole family was there since it was his grandmother's birthday this week (she's 80 yrs old but looks 60) so I got to see all his aunties, uncles, nephews, etc. hehe. As usual I got lots of fruit to eat, plus some turtle-shell jelly- sounds weird but its quite nice. Boon Peng got back from Cameron at 9 something, and since he drove he was too tired to come so he talked to Khylin on the phone, then after a short while I left at 10.30pm. Choon Ling called just as I was leaving, but I called him back when I got home and we talked about DataComm for a bit. I continued working on the tute until 1 am, then came online to discuss with LiHao. Its 2 am now and we're still at it- these tutes are crazy!

Expectations for tomorrow:Hopefully wake up in time for DataComm, after which is OS tute then as much work as possible..busy week ahead!

Saturday, September 29, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Harris has gone back to UK =( Anwyway, I went to Low Yat at 11am this morning- no Pool of Radiance! :( But my 30Gb hdd was ready though, so I picked it up from Imbi, then went home (stopping at McD's to tapau a BigMac Junior) to discover that they gave me a complete dud! The hdd was making lots of noises and BIOS couldn't even detect it :( So what to do? Drive back to Imbi at 2pm, I decided to try out an alternative route but ended up taking a wrong turn and by the time I got back on track, it was 3pm, so I think by the time I reached Imbi it was close to 4pm. The guy there promised to have a new hdd by next Friday, so here's hoping...the drive back was also long, not just because its saturday, but also because the road in front of Sg.Wang was closed for some performance stuff :( By the time I got back it was almost 5, and I was very tired after dealing with all that traffic, so I slept until 7.30pm, which was when Chelim called and we talked a bit, then I slept until 8 something before waking up and trying to do something productive...that didn't work so I tried sleeping again- tossed and turned for an hour but just couldn't- so I switched on my comp, did some surfing, wrote emails, etc. until 10.30pm which was when I finally slept. Whew! What a wasted day...exams are around the corner!

Expectations for tomorrow:Datacomm, then go to Khylin's house at night.

Friday, September 28, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Woke up early and reached kolej at 10am today, found out HK hadn't returned the keys yesterday, but fortunately they didn't ban me when he returned them later today (lucky me!). I decided to lepak in Mr.Lim's room until Terence reached here, basically I just read his updated MSDN until he had to leave, then I asked Mylini a question about the OS assignment, went back to the RL to find both HK and Terence there, so I went with HK to return the key, then went back to the RL and saw HK and Terence work on their project...Mary came a few mins later and I discussed the OS assignment with her, we had some problems so we went to Mylini to kacau her about it, then went to Mr.Lim's room and camped there for like 30+ mins talking about the project, then summer project, then WAP and J2ME games...until Terence and HK came to ask him some questions, then we camped some more hehe...Mr.Lim followed us to the RL and checked out what we've done so far..Li Hao came so we showed the query part as well- not bad lar we managed to do like 75% of the project already..all that's remaining is to add some more validation and make the interface more pretty, yeah!

I left at 12.45pm and rushed to Bkt.D'sara mosque, got there at 1.30pm just in time to see Harris arrive hehe...we were both quite late since by the time he ambil air sembahyang it was time for prayers already. After that we met up with Amin, talked to Ustaz, En.Roseni and En.Abu then we went to Bismi with Gary for our usual lunch, then went to Bangsar to pick up my pics from the kedai foto (it cost RM12.50 to develop 10 photos! And after paying I only had 20 sen in my wallet :( ) and drove to MegaMall in Amin's car. We met up with Amin's friend Farah there, and saw Harris' mum and sis too hehe. We duduk sekejap, then went upstairs to play pool, Harris and me on one side, Gary and Amin on the other (Farah played with some other ppl, classmates of hers I think). I'm a lousy player (hey I think I play once or twice a year tops!) but Harris managed to win the day! It was getting late (close to 5pm) so we went downstairs, and Harris, Amin and Gary took the body fat test. Result: Harris 12% body fat(8 kg), Amin (8.6kg) and Gary (8.2kg). Now Amin is a very skinny fella so we were quite surprised that he had more fat in his body than the other 2 hehe...after that Amin sent the other 2 to HELP, then sent Harris and I to his car.

Harris needed to buy a wau for his fren, so we went in his car to Central Market, and after some fun banter with the shopkeeper there (lucky I knew which shop to go to) Harris ended up buying 2 small decorative waus, and 1 big wau for himself, all for RM70. After that he sent me back to my car, I drove to Bangsar, took RM50 from the ATM, had dinner at the House of Thosai, went to GeorgeTown then went home. I rested for a bit, watched Sliders then went to Indah Villa to give Terence the complimentary tickets (since I don't have time to watch movies by Sunday)- he wasn't in so I put them in his mailbox, I'll collect the RM10 next week. I went home, went online, yeah that's pretty much it.

Expectations for tomorrow:Go Low Yat in the late morning, spend the day doing work.

Thursday, September 27, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Had to add another para to Monday's entry..what began as a short para has grown to 3! I'll probably remember more events towards the end of the week heh. I checked the movie guides this morning and discovered that Rush Hour 2 is no longer showing at 1 Utama, but it was showing at MegaMall at 1.10pm, so I thought what the heck, why not go there instead. Since the show started a bit later, I did some work at home, then picked up Yee Ying at 11.30am before going to MegaMall. I did something very silly there- I tried to use my TGV complimentary tickets! The teller raised an eyebrow when I put them on the counter, then when she said 'RM16 please' and I said 'Can't I use the complimentary tickets?' and she said 'That's for TGV!' I went like 'Oh my god I'm so sorry I totally forgot this was GSC!' Merah muka....

Since we had an hour b4 the show started, Yee Ying and I had lunch at the food court (don't ever buy chicken rice there- its overpriced and not nice at all), went to the Pet Store, watched some trailers outside the cinema before going in at 1pm. They were showing trailers inside the cinema, but there was no sound, and since it was getting close to showtime I thought I'd better go outside and ask the cinema guys to check out the sound system. Little did I know that the moment I walked out the cinema, the sound came back! Hehe...they said they were already aware of the problem and would get right on it, fortunately when I went back in the show still hadn't started. Whew! The movie was quite funny, and as usual there were lots of cool stunts by Jacky Chan :). After the show we walked to the pretzel stand (I swear that Yee Ying is addicted to Maple Crumble :) and I tried out the body fat analysis thing (heck its free)- here's the result: I have 25% body fat(16kg!)..and I'm 5kg overweight. Wah, good thing I'm not really bothered about that, though it is amusing to think I'm hiding 16kg of fat somewhere...;)

I went home for about 30mins, then went to Bangsar to develop the pics, and since I was there I walked to Uncle Raju's house to check on him. I must admit I've been a bit uneasy since Sunday which was when I saw a hearse parked outside his house with a small gathering of ppl on his lawn. I was concerned that he died or something. Fortunately (for me that is) his mother had passed away and he decided to have the funeral at his house. Whew! We talked for a half-hour then I went home. I did OS assignment for a bit,called Choon quite a few times until 8 something,I watched Sliders, and a bit of H.G. Wells until 10.30pm, did some more OS work, then surfed for a while before sleeping after midnight.

Expectations for tomorrow:Kolej in the morning, prayers in Bkt D'sara then hang out with Amin and Harris.

Wednesday, September 26, 2001 (10:19 p.m.)

Once I get some new pics I'll put em up- I guess the sunset is getting kinda old. I totally relaxed this morning...spent it watching Star Trek eps until Mary called at 11am, apparently she was alone in the RL with nothing to do, so I went to kolej by 12pm, we talked about her CIMA for a bit, I worked on the MIAD admin part, then Mary went home at 1 something. I finally managed to finish my work (yeah!) at 2pm, glad that's finally over. After trying to surf the net with no success (my 56k connection at home is better than the uni this week), I wrote my pitas for the past 2 days, passed the keys back to admin, then went to MegaMall at 3pm.

I managed to find the gift I was looking for, bought some nasi dagang for lunch/dinner, browsed the IT World for Pool of Radiance (no luck- they did have Planet of the Apes though) and went home. I finished off the last of Choon's tapes, finished my food, fell asleep until 8.30pm, watched Whose Line, Sliders then went online to edit my pitas for this week (I left a couple of things out) and icq a bit.

Expectations for tomorrow:Movie with Yee Ying, work at kolej.

Tuesday, September 25, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Sent mum to the airport this morning- she made me drive her car (a Ford Lynx, big and expensive) which I don't really like driving due to its size and all. I got home at 9am, had breakfast, called Khylin about tonight's outing, then went to kolej. I reached kolej at 10.30am, thinking I was late but surprisingly Mary and HK weren't there, but at least Michelle was, so after talking in Lab 1 for a bit we went upstairs to the RL. I did some more validation for the MIAD admin prog, we filled out our summer course forms, talked a bit, then she went for her group discussion at 12, during which I continued doing work and looking for stuff to d/l- my goodness the internet speed has dropped! The max d/l speed I can get is 1.2k/sec! That's bad... she came back at 1.10pm, then we went in her car to Pyramid. We weren't sure where to eat, but eventually settled on Kenny Rogers- the portions are so much smaller now though :(. I forgot that LiHao was coming to kolej after lunch, poor guy didn't have the key to the RL so he had to make do with the comp.lab =( After that we went shopping for a present for her younger sister (Ai Boon) since its her birthday tomorrow...she couldn't decide which sweater to buy for her sis, and since Ai Boon had finished class already Michelle asked her to come and choose which one she wanted hehe. Anyway her sister walked thru the whole store (Top Shop) and couldn't really decide, and since it was 3pm already Michelle decided to send me back to kolej.

Li Hao didn't have much time to do work since I was leaving at 4pm, but tomorrow we hope to get more work done. I went to UpTown since I was supposed to meet Yung Sing and Swee Meng for CS, but they were just leaving Cheras at 5! I was a bit tired of waiting so I dropped by Tmn.Tun for some kuih, then reached home at 5.45pm. Harris called, and we talked until Yung Sing called my h/p saying that he and Meng were at Bismi! Aiyar, I had no time to rest also, had to rush to Bismi and join them. We waited there and talked, then Boon Peng called to say Khylin wasn't home (though he was supposed to be) so we asked him to join us at Bismi. Boon Peng reached at 6.50pm, and we sat around and talked until 7.10pm, which was when we all got into our cars and went to Harris house. There we joined Amin and Harris, Boon Peng left his car at Harris house and all of us drove to Bangsar. We considered eating at Skylarks, but money limitations forced us to eat at the stalls hehe. It was nice to see them all again, I guess I do miss their company- its nice to have a group u have history with, whom u can make jokes with all the time hahaha :) After dinner we looked for a cybercafe to play CS, but all the cafes in Bangsar are quite lame looking (quiet and deserted) so we all went to my house (since nobody's around). I think we reached at 9.30pm- everyone was looking thru my CDs, D&D stuff, trading cards, photo albums etc. including playing Max Payne on my comp...I even managed to show them Bangsar Adventures and it got a favourable response hehe...but Amin was getting restless (I think he's not supposed to stay out so late) so everyone had to ciao close to midnight.

I had a good time today, wish I could see those jokers more often...pity Harris is going back on Saturday though :(

Expectations for tomorrow: Finish up my part of MIAD in kolej, maybe convince CSE gang to visit me at night.

Monday, September 24, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

I'll give u a handy clue for reading my entries- if its at 11:59pm, then I definitely wrote the entry a day or so late hehe. Had a nightmare last night:

There was a DataComm mid-term in a couple days, so I thought of going to see Weng Ke to ask for some help- How Khang was sitting outside his room, apparently waiting his turn to go in and ask questions, I waited a while then decided to give up, not show up for the mid-term and go home. Mary followed me since I could drop her at her place on the way, and along the way she explained all the stuff I've been having problems with like Hamming code etc. I felt a bit relieved, but still a bit susah hati. Then I realised, wait a minute- Mary knows DataComm?? Then I woke up hehe.

I woke up late, and reached kolej at 11am I think- Mary and HK were already there busy with work...I started work on the admin part of MIAD, got some good progress...Mary went back after a short while since she had finished her part, and LiHao came after lunch. Choon Ling also dropped by.

I called Halina at 2.15pm, didn't really know what to talk about or say, I guess its because she's leaving tonight and I'm sad to see her go- hehe I'm going to miss going to her house and getting well-fed by her mum :) At least I'll see her when she comes back in December, though unfortunately Fahmi and Harris aren't coming back :(.

Li Hao went back at 3.30pm, then we all puttered along with our stuff until 4pm, which was when we decided to leave. I came home, and instead of doing work I played my game, did some coding, pretty much that I guess. I miss Bangsar Adventures, its nice to start playing again :) I called Yung Sing, Harris and Khylin and made plans for tomorrow, then slept early.

Expectations for tomorrow: Lunch with Michelle, CS in the evening with Yung Sing and Swee Meng, then dinner with the rest of the high-school gang.
