No Godzilla anymore...it got replaced by some other cartoon :( Terence cancelled our PC Fair outing 'cos he had to babysit his younger brother, so I quickly called Shen Han and asked him instead, he agreed to drive so I went over to his place around 12pm, then tried to fix his computer- he's got some wacky problems with his comp, probably RAM or mobo probs. We went to fetch Yeong Hui at 1 something, then from his place (Tmn.Desa) we went to PWTC. A lot of time was wasted walking around the fair...most of the PC parts were overpriced, and the only stuff worth buying were notebooks/complete PCs....I did manage to chat with Faiz at the ITP booth though :) and Shen Han bought himself a USB mouse. External CDRWs were almost non-existent at the fair, and I was so disappointed that I asked Shen Han to drive to Low Yat.

We reached Low Yat close to 6pm, went straight to my regular shop and asked my friend (well, more like an acquantaince really) Scot to try and get us a deal on Shen Han's RAM+HDD and my CDRW, but the best he could give me was an RM5 discount for my CDRW...a bit lame considering how much I've spent at his store :( We bought some CDs then went back to Shen Han's house, I had to buka puasa in his car with some fishballs and Pepsi...well @ least I thought ahead this time. By the time I reached home and had dinner it was 8pm, I rested for a while and tested my CDRW...its big! I then packed up my notebook and drove to Shen Han's place, reached at 9.40pm and started working on his PC....his BIOS couldn't detect his new HDD and it was so baffling...I called my sister to check what time Bel's coming tomorrow but as it turns out Bel went back to BP yesterday :( so no chance to see her anymore. Well at least I don't have to sleep early tonight. Yeong Hui tried playing Monopoly Tycoon on my comp- there were some graphic errors though...Max Payne actually performed better! I worked on the problem until midnight, which was I finally gave up and Boon Peng, Yeong Hui, Shen Han and myself went in Boon Peng's car (I drove :) ) to a restoran nearby for satay. After that I went home, I think I got back around 1 something in the morning.

Expectations for tomorrow: Go kolej, copy the remainder of my downloads then go home and rest.

Saturday, December 8, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Reached kolej around 10am this morning, stayed there by myself until after lunch when Yu Hock joined me. I found an EXCELLENT website for Star Control 2, it really grabbed my attention for a few hours. Then I played SC2 for a bit, Yu Hock went home....Choon came close to 7pm and I went with him to Jaafar for dinner, Yu Hock couldn't join us 'cos he went out with his cousin. After dinner we went to McDonalds to get some apple pies, then we went back to the RL, stayed there until 10pm before going home. All in all a fun day, full of lots of downloads including Seinfeld, Macgyver, Star Trek, Batman, Spiderman, Frasier and best of all- Star Control Music! Hahaha....:)

Expectations for tomorrow: Go PC Fair with Terence and Yu Hock, buy my CDRW :)

Went to Low Yat with Dad in the morning, collected the notebook and tested it out. Much to my dismay I found out that it can only support resolutions up to 800*600, not 1024*768, but nvm, that's okay I guess I'll adapt. I bought 2 network cables as well, each 1 meter in length...unfortunately my concept of 1M was totally wrong, they're both so short! Waste of RM10....well, at least I can use 1 of them @ home. The final price of the notebook came to RM4800, plus a screen filter (which is too big for me to use). Dad dropped me off at the mosque, I went for prayers then came home and started the slow process of formatting and installing win2k on my notebook. Oh, the acting Agung (Sultan Mirzan of Terengganu) was at the mosque today, along with his retinue of traffic cops and Perdanas...unlike our previous Agung (whom I met at the same mosque also early this year) he doesn't drive a cool Cadillac, just a Perdana like the others heh..he seems quite young, and didn't smile much as he was walking down the stairs bersalam tangan with everybody. I was quite happy to have the opportunity to see him though =) I must quite blessed to have met the past and future kings of our country =)

I ran into a few problems at one point installing win2k, but eventually I got it done. I went to kolej after dinner, around 9.30pm, Terence joined me later and brought his notebook too hehe...then Yu Hock joined us. I started copying my gigs of downloads from the RL comp, but ran out of space on my notebook (its only 10GB)so I'll continue copying tomorrow. We all left at midnight.

Expectations for tomorrow: Spend the day in kolej.

Thursday, December 6, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

I drove all the way from JB to KL today- I guess the only thing stopping me from driving to JB myself is the high toll fees- RM65+ for the whole trip, plus 2 full tanks for petrol, just so I can drive around JB in my own car...hehe no thanks! I can understand why Kah Wai wasn't keen on driving to JB the other day when it was very sunny, its very tiring on the eyes, especially since I don't have shades. We left at 9am, reached KL at 12, then I went to Low Yat with Dad at 1pm. The guy there still had the notebook at RM4888, what is interesting is that the RM1000 discount seems to be a word-of-mouth thing, there's no banner, or mention on the brochure of their 'special price'. In fact he seemed a bit suspicious that I knew about the discount hehehe...seems like a closely guarded secret, which he told me himself on Monday..guess I'm lucky then. The notebook will only be ready tomorrow, so I'm going back there with Dad in the morning. Dad sent me home by 3 something, I watched Sliders then went to Shen Han's house.

I loafed for a bit at his place, looked at his computer- his HDD had crashed, and was beyond repair so he only has a 1.7GB HDD to work with, that's too bad. I called Bel since I felt like going to Indah and seeing her later, but her mum wasn't keen on the idea :( though we did compromise: she's coming to kolej on Monday so I can see her then =) Must remember to wake up early then ;) I called Wing Tatt too, he told me Li Li is under the impression I'm in Clayton now, apparently that's why she hadn't called me...uh-huh...maybe I'll call her, dunnolar see how. I was quite keen on getting to Muhibbah early- in fact Shen Han and I were on our way there when Boon Peng called to say he was at Shen Han's place and needed directions, so I turned around and headed back to pick him and Yeong Hui up, and the 4 of us went together to the restoran. Luckily it wasn't packed at all, but the moment we reached there dah masuk waktu Maghrib, so I berbuka puasa with peanuts and barley...well at least it was on time. They weren't sure what to order, so I ordered all my fave dishes- they didn't like the Taichi Tauhu very much, but enjoyed the rest of the food :) The total bill came to RM62- about RM15.50 each...a bit pricey, but oklar. However the quality has definitely gone down since I was a kid, I'm not taking Pui Mon there if and when she finds time to let me treat her to dinner.

After dinner we went back to Shen's house, tried to get his Saturn to work but failing that we watched Famili Ceria instead- we had lots of fun surprisingly =) Then at 9pm we went to Swensens SS2 since Shen Han belanja, we made lots of jokes about the Topless 5 description- '5 scoops of ice-cream served topless for your pleasure'...hilarious! I'm surprised how much ice-cream I've eaten this week, I think 8 scoops in total...wow! How unlike me...after that we went back to Shen's place, I was tired so I went home and called Shyang Loon. He's going to China on the 20th, and after that he's going back to Perth so I don't have much time to see him..aiyoh susah lar like this, so many ppl I need to see before I fly...I wish I wasn't going to Penang for raya, I'd rather stay in KL. Getting sleepy now...guess I'll sleep early.

My flight plans for SAP have changed- I'm leaving on Jan 3rd and coming back on Feb 14th. After Chinese New Year. Which means Ian will be spending CNY in Australia all alone with me- doesn't sound like much of a celebration.

Expectations for tomorrow: Collect notebook in the morning, probably go kolej after prayers to collect my downloads....I hope I get lots of Spiderman! =)

Wednesday, December 5, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Watched last week's ep of Sliders this morning, then went to JB with Mum at 12pm. We reached around 3 something, stopped at a store in town to pick up some stuff then went to Mak Som's place. I was feeling kind of tired so I slept until dinner time, then rested for a while. I called Bel after dinner- I was slightly disappointed that she can't make it tomorrow but that's okay really since I have to go Low Yat and buy the notebook. I called Sue-Yi, Yu Hock, May Li and Pei Li then called Shen Han, guess I spoke to him a bit tooo long, I expect a big phone bill this month :( I called Abang Mon to talk about the notebook, and he told me about this guy called Low, 21 yrs old studying Engineering at Monash, currently doing industrial training at IBM, and apparently he knows me! I've got no idea who this Low is, must ask my sister about him next time....I slept around 11pm.

Expectations for tomorrow: Get home, go Low Yat with Dad, then make some plans for the evening.

Tuesday, December 4, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Woke up about 9am today, reached kolej shortly after 10am. I met Kah Jin's sister at the sidegate so should could pass me KJ's racquet, wow its really high-quality stuff...maybe I should skip SAP and keep it for myself ;) I dumped my stuff in the RL- Yu Hock, Sue-yi and the others were there for a few mins then went off to eat, I was just about to go to the staffroom when this girl showed up to pinjam a comp to check something online....apparently the server was down so I let her use the comp but there was no network in the RL either...darn I forgot her name, nvm I doubt I'll see her again. It was just after 10.30am so I went to Mylini's room and showed her Manipulation, another game I worked on earlier this year. Then we talked a bit about OpenGL and other stuff, then I kacaued Mr.Lim then went to the library to browse the AI books. Mon called around 11.30 to say she was there so I didn't get a chance to borrow anything :(

We went to Mr.Lim's room and amusingly enough Mylini was there too so we sat around listening to Mon describe her lecturers there, tell funny stories and other comments like 'John Hurst sucks!' which was quite funny for Mylini, since she's the OS tutor hehe :) After that it was almost 12.30 already so Mon and I went to the RL, she tried playing the games we have there but found nothing really amusing except Monopoly Tycoon. Sue-Yi, Choon Ling and the others came back and we all sat around talking/surfing/playing games for quite a bit...Yu Hock, Choon and I got Star Control 2 to work so we had lots of fun trying that game out =)....eventually we decided to watch Harry Potter at Pyramid at 3pm, so while Choon went for his class, Yu Hock, Ian, Mon, Sue-Yi, Darren, How Khang and myself went to Pyramid. We got there too late of course so we bought tickets for the 4.30pm show, then walked around shopping for Ian's shoes and other things...darn boring for me plus I was quite sleepy...I did bump into Paul, Pei Li and May Li though, talked to them a bit and got some phone numbers, but had to rush for the movie..it was quite fun to watch really, all those cool effects hehehe :) It ended after buka puasa time :( and Pizza Hut was packed, so we stood around trying to figure out where to eat, as usual it proved very difficult to agree on any one place but eventually we settled for SS2 Shakeys.

Sue-Yi bumped into Wei Li and Kah Keat as we were heading to our car, she stayed there talking SO long that we had to leave her behind...apparently she preferred their company to us :( Mon went back with her mum, so it was just me and Darren driving to SS2, with the others in How Khang's car. We arrived early, Kah Wai and Tracy came next, then the others came, then Choon came, he got a spot right in front of the restoran too! I guess by the time my food arrived (earlier than the others luckily) it was past 8.30pm....latest time I've ever broken fast. After the meal we went to Swensens for ice-cream- I had my usual Butterscotch and Mint :) Sue-Yi joined us midway, then Yu Hock and I left while the others adjourned to How Khang's place. Unfortunately since Darren left his stuff in my car I had to make a detour to HK's house to drop it off before heading to the RL. We got there just after 11pm, I watched an ep of Seinfeld and queued lots of stuff to be d/l over the next few days :) Hope to see lots of eps when I get back...Yu Hock zipped SC2 to disks, we watched the remainder of an Enterprise ep we were watching last week then went downstairs to join HK, Darren and Sue-Yi at Munaf. I didn't stay of course since I had to get home, I think by the time I reached home it was 12.20am. Gosh I'm tired.......and poor!

Expectations for tomorrow: Go JB in the afternoon, hopefully sleep early...going to be pretty boring just staying one night.

Monday, December 3, 2001 (11:39 p.m.)

Woke up early and watched NGEO for a bit today...got to see Bhutan and Calcutta :) Then I went to fetch Yu Hock from the LRT at 10.30am, went to Paul's house and loafed there while waiting for him to finish eating. His mum was interested in making ketupat, so I managed to help her out a bit, though my ketupat was slightly cacat since I haven't made one in 3 years. We went to Low Yat at 11.30, ran into a jam since it's Nuzul Al-Quran today but managed to get there before 1pm. We walked around, I ended up spending RM50(yikes) on games- Monopoly Tycoon and Commandos 2 for Mark, Battlecruiser Millennium, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Dune, Aquanox and Gothic for myself. I guess it was a bit careless of me buying so many games...=( On the plus side the notebook I wanted to get last time has an RM1000 discount, so I'm very tempted to buy it. Unfortunately that means convincing my Dad to fork out RM5000.

I wasted quite a bit of time driving around town trying to avoid jams, but eventually managed to send Paul home and reach Indah by 2.40pm. I went upstairs with Yu Hock, fortunately Bel was in so he went out for lunch with Choon Ling and after saying hi to her mother, Bel and I sat on the couch chatting until 4.40pm (well apart from a few minutes spent walking downstairs to pass Wen Yung some stuff). =) I'll probably see her again on Thursday.

I went home, tried Battlecruiser- installation was tricky for one thing, plus the game runs incredibly slow! Its like Wing Commander 3 on my 486....I couldn't play the game at all so I guess that was RM5 wasted :( Next I tried Dune which had some awful looking characters, and is like a console game, but it was similar to the movie...unfortunately I got squashed by a sandworm 5 minutes into the game, and I can't figure out how to avoid it! Darn....then I tried Gothic, which also seems very console like- looks interesting, I'll put it on my list of RPGs to finish...then I tried Wolfenstein which was totally awesome!! The graphics, the gameplay- simply great! I had dinner, called Sue-Yi, played Wolfenstein, went online, then Pui Mon called to say she's coming to kolej sometime tomorrow...after discussing my notebook prefs with LiHao and icqing a bit, I slept shortly after midnight.

Expectations for tomorrow: Go kolej in the morning, no idea what's going on next.
