Bit of an unproductive day today- watched Godzilla as usual...today's monster was quite scary, it was a jellylike monster that grows bigger as it absorbs water (from ppl, Godzilla, and reservoirs)- it could also liquify itself to escape! Not bad, not bad...
After lunch I went to kolej and surfed the net for that missing episode again- I managed to find it at a Russian server! I was so happy- now I can say I've watched the final episode of Voyager! Pity neither Choon or Joe were here to watch it with me :( Anyway after that I d/l some Family Guy, Visionaries and studied OS- unfortunately I only covered 1.5 chapters, which leaves 5.5 chapters to go- yikes! I think I gotta study a lot each day 'cos OS and DataComm are some serious reading subjects, not the last minute get HD kinda stuff I've been doing so far. At least today was more academic than yesterday, which was a total waste..if I hadn't known about that voyager episode floating on the Net I might have gotten a LOT more work done today- as it is I can't believe I missed Fahmi's doa selamat just for a bit of study time :( Sorry Fahmi! I had dinner at Jaafar, came back to the RL, watched some Family Guy, studied a bit, then decided to call it a night and go home early.
Expectations for tomorrow:Somehow read up on OS, then after tute take Fahmi, Harris and Amin to my house to lepak a bit.
Saturday, August 11, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)
Woke a bit late today(10am to be exact) so there goes my idea of eating cornflakes in the staff lounge- hey it's a fun idea, and I'm gonna implement it soon I hope :) I went to kolej, stopping at the bank on the way, and was in the RL at 11.30. Sue-Yi joined me, and Darren came at about 12pm. I started d/l South Park and Star Trek eps while they neo-petted (well Darren did do some AI homework)...I was in a d/l mood and was busy d/l until 2pm, which was when we finally managed to drag Sue-Yi away from her neopets! Darren and I did have some fun poking her though hehe...we went to Carrefour for lunch at KFC, and I collected my printer too- we got back to kolej at 4pm. Darren was playing with my soft toys and waving them at other cars- plus we had fun throwing them at Sue-Yi, who was in the backseat :)
I stashed my 100 plus in the staff fridge, then we resumed our activities in the RL. I watched quite a few Star Trek eps, good stuff too :) Choon Ling called a couple of times, but fortunately decided not to come- he seriously needs his rest. Darren left at 8 something I think, so it was just me and Sue-Yi...I desparately searched the Net for the last episode of Voyager, eventually managed to get a guy on ICQ to help me out, but because of the proxy I couldn't access his hard-disk. I tried all sorts of ways to bypass the proxy, even mistakenly tried to login to it (hope Hiew doesn't catch me)...I even got partial access to his hard disk at one point, but not to the folder where the episode was. Eventually I gave up after midnight and resolved to try again tomorrow afternoon- sheesh what a day! Since I broke curfew the guard was a bit hesitant to let me out, but after showing him my ID, he paused a moment and let me go home- I gotta be careful next time and leave earlier..
Surprisingly Gina,Mon and KJ weren't online today('cept Gina for a short while in the late morning)- guess they finally got a happening life! Hehehe =)
Expectations for tomorrow:Watch Godzilla, eat lunch, go kolej- come back at night again!Must study OS though- Mylini can see right thru me and knows I'm not stupid, just lazy :)

No errands to run in the morning today, so I woke up late, watched some Star Trek eps, went online for a bit then went for prayers at 1.15pm. Fahmi was ill and couldn't go, but I met up with Harris and Amin and we talked a bit b4 I rushed to Fahmi's house to collect my belated birthday present hehe- he bought me a nice East India shirt, but its 2 sizes too big, which means I won't be wearing it for a looong time =(
After that I went to kolej, reached just b4 3pm and met up with Bel at MUSA. We went to the comp.lab to start her C homework, I'm not sure if she understands fully or not- I hope I get a chance to give her a more comprehensive overview next week...we talked a little about some other stuff, though I can't believe I had to pester her for 4 weeks just to get an hour of her time :(...as usual I asked her out for next week and she couldn't give me a confirmation- she sees nothing wrong with being unable to make a commitment.....oh well I can't do much more than hope- at least I had today :)
Mary had the key to the room and she was on her way home- good thing I got my illegal copy, but next time I gotta remind everyone to give the key to someone nearby like Sue-Yi, Choon Ling, HK or Terence...around 4.30 I went to the RL and joined Sue-Yi,Darren and Yunita there- I d/l some more Whose Line audio clips, d/l some South Park...in other words I wasted time hehe. Darren and Yunita left around 5 something, and Sue-Yi and I went home at 7pm.
I felt a big hungry so I tapaued some chapati and a chicken bun from Bangsar, went home, ate, played Max Payne until 10.30pm, then slept until 2am. I watched another Star Trek ep, then went back to sleep until 10 am. Nice to catch up on my sleep for a change :)
Expectations for tomorrow: Go to kolej in the morning, go out for lunch with Sue-Yi and Darren, stay in kolej until night.
Thursday, August 9, 2001 (10:49 p.m.)
Went to kolej early in the morning- Mr.Lim wasn't around so I hung around the kantin, talked to Yee Ying- Choon Ling came to kolej and hung about Mr.Lim's door until he came and he got the key- I went to LT1 to wait for Bel, but she must have been very late 'cos even at 9.15 she still hadn't come. Going back to the lab, I did some work with Choon until 10am when I went down to wait for Bel outside LT1. I followed her to the comp.lab, we talked a bit about her work and she agreed to let me help her tomorrow afternoon- hope she doesn't disappear! Her subject is really unfair- they expect her to know so much about C when all this they taught her in 1st year was Pascal...hope I get enough opportunities to help her out..anyway at 10.30 I went back to the lab.
I continued working on the assignment- bothered Mr.Lim and Dr.Andrija off and on- HK came at 11, I tapaued food from the kantin at 11.40, Michelle came at 12.15 and we all buat kerja until 2pm, which is when HK and Choon Ling went to tapau food from the kantin. Then we continued working on our C++ until 8pm, which is when Choon and HK went for dinner with Sue-Yi- I presented my work to Andrija at 5.30 and he accepted it, I then modified HK's documentation and slipped it under Andrija's door at 8.45pm :)
HK and Choon came back at 9.15pm, and we all continued working on their C++ work- Michelle and Choon looked really stressed, Choon Ling especially because he is seriously ill :(...Michelle went back at 10.40pm, and I'm staying on until the other 2 are done- gonna do Datacomm in the morning...well, today was a productive day, its nice to work in a small group with little interruptions :) Oh, and good news- Mon, Georgi and KJ did alrite in their prac thanks to their tutor- whew!
Expectations for tomorrow:Do DataComm in the morning, maybe lunch at Fahmi's, then prayers at D'sara, then rush to kolej to help Bel with her prac..
Wednesday, August 8, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)
Stayed up late last night doing work, even called my sister at 2.30 am to talk to her a bit- I'm very close to giving up trying to see Bel- I've got no choice now but to surprise her after her morning lecture tomorrow and ask her about what's been going on =(
I woke up at 7am instead of 5am (darn clock slowed down again!) so I rushed to kolej- but only managed to get the RL key from Lim at 8am. I skipped OS to work on C++, I kept getting some pointer errors so I had to drag Mr.Lim to the RL to take a look at my code- even he couldn't figure out what was wrong! Around 10 am Mary, Sue-Yi, Joe and Darren dropped by to watch Mr.Lim work, then our SuperSenior dropped by and he helped me step thru the program and we finally found the error- never have a fixed-length char array and a char** array in the same class, 'cos they might overlap in memory...after that was discovered I rushed for my prac, managed to get an extension until Friday (though I'm quite confident I can hand it in tomorrow). I spent the prac tinkering around with my prog, helping Michelle with hers- she was unusually hungry so she took a 10 min break to tapau some fruit for herself and bread for Ian and me :) She left around 12 to meet up with her sisters while we continued working, then around 12.45 everyone left 'cept me. I decided to go home early, so after Michelle came to collect her stuff from the lab, I dropped by the RL, said goodbye to Mary then went Bangsar.
I tapaued some thosai for lunch, watched some Star Trek at home, then slept from 4.30~8.30pm. Woke up to watch Whose Line for the first time in weeks, then started to work on my C++. Pui Mon, Georgi and KJ were online doing their C++ prac, so I tried to help them as best I could- next time give me notice ok? It's difficult trying to help at the last minute...I switched between helping them and perfecting my menu system- 4+ hours online without d/l anything...how time flies when you're programming hehehe :)...right now its 3 AM and I'm not sure whether to sleep or what...I hope they do alright in their prac tomorrow- I'll start nagging them about work from now on =)
Expectations for tomorrow:Finish my C++ in the morning, then help Michelle with hers- most probably stay back with her and the others to finish it. Oh! Must remember to do DataComm too.
Tuesday, August 7, 2001 (11:59 a.m.)
Woke up late again and rushed to kolej- went for the DataComm tute, today we learned about bit stuffing and transparency but I'm not sure if I can finish the tute work by Friday :(....I felt sleepy so I skipped the rest of today's lectures, convincing Choon Ling and Ian to join me in the RL to do work- Michelle met up with us there and we were about to start on our C++, but suddenly she went off to the coffee shop with her friends from 11-12, so Choon Ling and I remained in the RL while Ian and a few of our CSE gang went for lunch. Michelle came back, some of the others came back, we worked on our C++ a little, they did some neopetting- and around 1 pm I took Michelle to Nando's Subang for lunch. We walked around for a bit, bought a card for Mary then went back to kolej- we spent 2 hours on our outing, but at least we're keeping it to a weekly basis. Oh, and I saw my sister on the way to my car earlier and she said I can't see Bel because of her friend's birthday- seems like my sister controls Bel's life this year :(
Well from 3 pm onward we all sorta did work in the RL, I spent way too much time trying to get a 2d array of strings to work, even asking ppl like John VV for help since Mr.Lim was busy- tough work today. To make matters worse HK took the RL key home, and Mr.Lim wanted it back so we were in a bit of trouble- luckily I managed to convince HK to come back at 7.30pm! Sue-Yi dropped by and we had fun fighting over the keyboard to talk to Georgi and Mon..hehehe...even if my 2 little girls are in Clayton, at least I got 1 back here to play with =). Michelle looked very worn out today, I think she's got too many things to do nowadays and can't get enough sleep- oh well what to do? I don't think I'll be sleeping tonight since I gotta finish the C++ assignment by 10 AM.
Oh, around 8pm Ian, Darren, Choon and I went to Choon's house to watch Stargate- we ordered Domino's Pizza for dinner, played Max Payne for a bit and went home. I stopped for a Mocha Freeze just now but it was all foam and very little coffee- what a waste! Phew...gotta get back to work!
Expectations for tomorrow:Finish up UML somehow in the morning, hand up the assignment, hopefully see my sister in the afternoon, then skip classes and go home early.
Monday, August 6, 2001 (11:05 p.m.)
Tried taking the LDP to kolej today- lets see...left my house at 7.45am and reached at 8.40am! From now onwards its the Federal Highway for me! I was so sleepy I slept thru almost all of the Data Comm lecture, and the funny thing is that I was the only fella dozing there most of the time- bad! Even Choon was awake during most of the lect! After the lecture HK, Terence and I discussed our projek with Mr.Lim again, then retired to the RL to do some OS work..Mary joined us sometime later. Terence and Ian had some fun playing around with my ICQ- telling Georgi I love her, etc. Sorry Georgi! They weren't supposed to reveal my feelings for you! Hahahaha :p Around 1 pm we all went for our OS prac to discover that our comps had no power, so we walked out of the lab and went back to the RL to do some last minute research on CVS hahaha- couldn't give good answers to Mailini's questions either in the end. Power was restored to the lab at 2 and we all started doing our prac until almost 4, when Mailini started evaluating us- we gave bad answers again! Aiyoh, this teori stuff is hard! Can't we just code stuff and not think so much? :)
Had lunch in the kantin with HK,Terence,Ian and Choon Ling- we all had Hokkien Mee! Except Terence, who had some fried rice as well...I picked up Tirath from the foyer and we walked to my car- Michelle called and we griped about the OOSE assignment a bit, hopefully tomorrow we can finish it up. I then sent Tirath home, had an early dinner, and slept until 10.30pm- tried calling Bel but she's not picking up the phone =( Right now I'm busy ICQ-ing with Pui Mon, though I gotta do the C++ assignment soon..
Expectations for tomorrow:More sleepy DataComm, Skipping OS to do work...go out for lunch with Michelle then stay back and do work- and depending on Belinda I'll either watch Stargate at Choon's house, or watch it at hers (though of course I'm about 80% positive I'll be watching it at Choon's).
