Sunday, August 19, 2001 (09:51 p.m.)

No Godzilla today- it was preempted for the novice motorcycle racing championship...I watched one round of it and its really quite interesting since as novices they are more likely to lose control of their bike and slam into the wall- don't worry, there were no real injuries. Before the race they showed some police videos of illegal racing- my god these guys are crazy! They ride their bike, then lift their legs and lie down on it, while racing at 100+kph! Scary stuff...after that I watched some Star Trek eps, then went to fetch Ram, Ong, Tirath to Kevin's house, whereupon Kevin drove us all to D'sagar for lunch. It was nice for us all to get together for our half-yearly lunch :) Though I was a bit lost during most of the conversation since I'm a bit out of the loop. After lunch Kevin drove us back to his house because he needed to fetch Foo Weng's sister from the LRT. Nobody got out of the car. Why? Because Ram wanted to tag along to see Foo Weng's sis. The rest of us didn't mind so we drove to the LRT, squeezed her into the car, sent her home, then sent the others home, and finally Kevin sent Tirath and I to my car.

I sent Tirath back and got home around 4pm, lazed around a bit, watched some Star Trek eps, did some cleanup of my HDD....basically waste time :( I intended to get a lot of work done today too...boo-hoo...My OS and DataComm are suffering, plus I gotta work on Mei Yee's assembly work by Thursday- guess this means more late nights in the RL for me :( I stopped watching tv at about 9.30pm and tried to start work on my Python...urgh...

Expectations for tomorrow:2 hours of DataComm in the morning! Plus lab 3 of OS, which I haven't even done yet...

Saturday, August 18, 2001 (09:29 p.m.)

Went to kolej at 10am today and started to d/l more Star Trek eps- I talked to Pui Mon and KJ over ICQ for a great part of the day, and experimented with JSP a bit...Mr.Lim dropped by the RL to check on things, and I saw Mylini about the Python work too. Dad came at 11am to take my car for servicing- I tapaued some KFC for lunch before he drove off. Then I resumed my activities until Choon came at 5pm, and Dad sent my car back at 6pm- with new brake pads, drive shaft, radiator flush- its like a new car!

I made some progress in my JSP efforts at least- got the Add Student prog running- plus I d/l 2 massive Star Trek eps. Anyway HK came at 8pm and we went to Jaafar for dinner- came back around 9, and watched Southpark(Chinpoko Mon)- real funny! We all left around 11 something...

Expectations for tomorrow:Godzilla in the morn, followed by lunch with Ram, Kevin and Tirath and hopefully clean up my HDD.

Friday, August 17, 2001 (10:28 p.m.)

Woke up late, had breakfast and watched another Star Trek ep, then went to Mum's office to try and fix one of her comps..I left the office at 1pm, but there was a big jam at the traffic light nearby so I had to settle for praying at the Tmn.Tun mosque (Masjid Al-Taufik I think)...after that I went to Bkt.D'sara to join Amin and Harris, and we went in Amin's GTI to MegaMall, walked around for a bit, had lunch (I had nasi dagang again! I tell u, I'm addicted to it...) and then we checkout out some Bosch gadgets, went to U2 where Harris bought a shirt, and finally to Music Valley for Harris to buy a music CD. Amin sent me to my car, then I went home, got my comp and went to kolej at 5.40pm. I reached at 6.30pm, and Choon Ling wasn't around so I left my comp in Andrija's room, went to look for him in the comp.lab, found the CSE gang instead then Choon called to say he was coming so I went back upstairs to the RL with my comp, and then we got started on some work and d/l. Kah Wai, Tracy, Darren and Sue-Yi came upstairs around 7 something and hung around for a bit, then they went back. And the rest of the time until now was spent transferring files to my comp, and icq-chatting with Lee Mei Yee- I'm going to try and help her with her OS and CA assignments, since she's doing Comp.Sains in UM her work must be done in BM, and u can imagine how ridiculous that is...oh and I talked to Kar Yee as well, haven't heard from her in a long while...

Thursday, August 16, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Woke up at 10am today- should have gone to kolej by 7, but I was so tired...I took my bath, had breakfast and called Michelle, then decided to go to Low Yat and buy my modem(RM60) and cd writer (RM470) then rushed to kolej and reached at 1.10- I SMS'd Michelle telling her to call me at 1.16, and the funny thing is that though she had left her handphone in her car and didn't get the msg, she still call me at exactly 1.16! What coincidence eh? Anyway I met up with her at the comp.lab and we walked to her car to look for her phone- she couldn't find it and borrowed another friend's handphone to call her h/p, tapi tak dapat- she was getting worried until I tried searching her car then found it- under a plastic bag on her seat! Lucky she hadn't lost it this time- I think she's lost 4 handphones alredi. Then we went to the handphone shop nearby to top up my h/p credit- something strange must be going on because lately RM50 only lasts me 2 weeks! I never spend much time on my h/p so it doesn't make sense that RM50 would last such a short time...I gotta control my h/p time from now on.

While we were at the h/p shop it started raining real heavily, so we ran the short distance to her car, and the moment I took out the umbrella it stopped raining! Just like that! We must have looked quite hilarious to the ppl at the corner cafe. I bought some soyabean for myself and HK, then went to the RL while Michelle went to the corner cafe to discuss her assignment with her friends.

HK and I were busy doing our Python work, until Hero and Ferdy joined us, then we kept at it until 4 something which was when the other two went back. Well, at least we had finished one part of the prac, now I gotta plan out the second part...hmmm...HK, Choon and I remained in the lab...until 7.30pm which was when HK started getting aggressive and made us go eat dinner- we walked to Indah Court('cos we parked our cars that far..) then drove to Jaafar for dinner, then we had some anti-MUSA discussions then went home..I then started the long process of archiving my data on CDs..slept at 1.30am I think.

Expecations for tomorrow:Wake up late, do some work, go for prayers then go out with Harris and Amin for lunch or something-then at night bring my comp to kolej and d/l stuff.

Wednesday, August 15, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Lets see...after the prac I had lunch in the kantin with Choon Ling, Ian, Tracy and Kah Wai- after that we went for DBMS lecture during which I had repeated blackouts and leg spasms- note: Choon Ling was wide awake. After that we went for our OOSE lecture, during which I was wide awake and Choon Ling was fast asleep(well mostly)- I'm getting close to completing my proof on the inverse sleeping theorem! Hehehe...anyway after that we were so tired we skipped class and wanted to go to the RL, but there was another guy there who wasn't supposed to be there- we tried to inform him of that, and he went off eventually at 3.30pm. Tracy and Kah Wai went off to Pyramid b4 that, so it was just me, Choon and Weng Ye in the room. Ian and Mary joined us shortly- I went to MUSA off and on to cari Jason- I did find Terence though, and we talked a bit in the lounge. I saw Bel after class and she confirmed dinner tonight- she mentioned something about Megamall, but its up to her sister to decide where we're going in the end. I saw Tirath and William for a few mins as well, quite a rare opportunity nowadays. I watched another Star Trek ep in the RL, then Mary went back, followed by Weng Ye. I d/l some more stuff, then slept- Choon slept as well...3 ok chairs=1 lousy bed!So when the room's empty we got 3 beds to sleep on- I napped about 1/2 hour then the two of us left at 7pm- I went to Indah Villa.

I waited in the lobby for a while until my sister and Bel came down, then Jason came and we went in my car to MegaMall. We walked around looking for a new restaurant to try out (my sister was all dressed up for some reason, and wanted to go somewhere classy- wish she had told me that, what with me in my t-shirt and jeans..)- we eventually settled on some American bistro place next to Starbucks- Bel and sis had a steak and sub sandwich, I had fish & chips, and Jason had a burger. The food was quite good, and it was nice to go out with them again...after dinner the girls shopped around for a gift for their friend, and after looking thru a few clothing stores they settled on buying a bottle of chardonnay from Jusco, then I sent them to Subang to meet up with their friends. After dropping them off I went home and reached about 11.10pm, which is quite early for a change. I watched the Drew Carey Show and Whose Line until about 12.10, which was when I couldn't tahan anymore and went to sleep...

Expectations for tomorrow:OS lecture followed by some group work with Hero and Ferdy...I'd like to go Low Yat, but I got responsibilities in the RL..

Tuesday, August 14, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Woke up a bit early and went to kolej, then discovered that I had a 9AM DataComm tute, which I thought had been cancelled- it was about the Huffman code again, so I quickly fell asleep ;) After that was OS, and since I had to meet my group members I reluctantly went for it and actually stayed awake until the last 10 mins, during which I was desparately fighting to stay awake, resulting in my head wobbling and body swaying- and Mylini saw it all! Hahaha....

HK and I met with Hero and Ferdinand to talk about our group work, then HK and I went for DataComm and we learned about duplex transmission- after that the CSE gang went to Pyramid for lunch, while Ian and I stayed in the RL until 1pm. Ian went out with his friend, whereas I met up with Yee Ying at the financial counter and she drove us to Pyramid in her Tiara- my first Tiara experience :) The two of us walked around for a bit, ate at Kenny Rogers, stopped by the IT world since Yee Ying needed to get a phone splitter, and then we went back to kolej. I went to the RL and talked with HK, Terence, Li Hao and Mary about the database design, and we all pretty much hung around the RL- Mary went back at 3.15, Li Hao and HK went back a short time later, leaving me, Terence and Choon in the RL. I was busy download 'That's my Bush' episodes, Terence was sleeping and Choon was doing some work- I was a bit bored so I went downstairs to talk to Kah Wai and Tracy, then went back to the RL to watch an awesome Quake movie I d/l. Anyway Sue-Yi,Darren and Yunita joined us at some point after Terence went for his LAN class- Choon and I went to his house at 8.15pm, taped Stargate then I rushed to Fahmi's house. Oh, I called Bel and asked her out for tomorrow- her sister nearly didn't let her, but I think she took pity on me and allowed me a short dinner with her, Bel and Jason. I think I'm just a burden to them....:(

I was too late to see Halina, but she called Fahmi at 10.45 so I talked to her a bit- Fahmi was busy packing his suitcase until about 11, which was when Harris came back, then we talked for a bit until Shiao Shun came, then Tariq and Zheng Chi came and we all went downstairs and reminisced about our school days, then at some point had dinner which consisted of perut, arnab and chicken satay- it's the first time I ate arnab satay, and its not bad- tastes like chicken :) Then we all pretty much sat around talking until 3am, we played with the cat a bit, tried to make it sit on a tricycle- we had fun conversation! At 3am we watched Hunchback of Notre Dame with the mute button on, so I could narrate the story (with the others chipping in when I was tired)- hilarious! Since Fahmi had to go KLIA at 4am, we left at 3.40am and went home.

I decided that since it was almost 4am anyway- why sleep? So I dropped by 7-11, picked up a Mocha Freeze and went home. Then I discovered my modem wasn't working, and it took me almost an hour to discover that fact, since this particular error(bios not accessed) could occur for many other reasons, which I foolishly checked first. Without my modem, I wasn't really sure what to do, so I rested for a while, took a long shower, read a bit of my book, then got fed up sitting around the house and went to kolej at 6.30am- reached at 7, then slept until 8am in my car. Then I went to the RL, slept until Choon came at 9am, then finished up my C++ work, talked to Georgi a leetle bit, and went for my OOSE prac.

I miss Fahmi! Now I won't see him until next May...

Expectations for tomorrow:Might skip a lot of classes since I'm tired, and for once I'm tempted to cancel dinner plans too- but I'm too desparate to cancel :(

Quote from Choon:Geraldine keeps saying that I'm always trying to criticize her. Not sure on whether she's serious or not about this, but it's starting to get on my nerves. Should try to set her straight sometime.

Now I do admit that Choon does tend to misuse those precious few seconds with Geraldine each time to complain on how she doesn't spend time with us CSE ppl- that's why she keeps saying you are criticising her- you know, she tries to be nice to everybody, but that's a very difficult task which creates pressure, so she doesn't need any extra criticism from anyone ok? And your comment in your log doesn't warrant the long speech from HK either- I know by 'setting her straight' you mean explaining that you're weren't really criticising her all this time, but instead wishing she spent more time with us or not make false promises to see us in future....it may have seemed to u that it wasn't criticism, but it was. I don't know what u say to her nowadays, but last semester she definitely took it as criticism which is why she keeps saying u criticise her now. Anyway, better watch out how you phrase your entries Choon, else HK will come-a-knocking ;)

And now back to the regular log....

Woke up a bit more refreshed than usual 'cos I slept at 12.30 last night- reached kolej just before 8am, talked to Joe a bit...he's actually getting quite far in Anachronox! Wow, he can still play games- I'm lucky if I can play Max Payne once a week :( After a few mins I went to the RL, watched an episode of Family Guy then slept until 9am.

For once I was awake during DataComm! 2 hour lecture and I only passed out during the last 15 mins, which was when he discussed how to write a Huffman code- I think the sight of 1's and 0's on the whiteboard sends me to sleep automatically heh...it's also funny how when I'm awake, Choon's asleep and vice-versa- I'm going to wait and see if this is a fact of life or something...after DataComm we went to the RL to discuss our OS tute- gosh I'm so far behind :( Oh, and I had what must be my cheapest lunch in the past 2 years- RM1.50 for rice+vege! Wasn't very good though, but it was healthy :)

OS tute was quite ok actually- Mylini wasn't as Hiewish as she used to be, and therefore no pressure to know everything :) Ah yes, my original phrase for today- "We believe we can deliver more by promising less" - use this for any project proposal =)

After OS HK,Mary, Choon, Ian and I went to the RL and discussed the projek a bit, then around 2.45pm I went to Fahmi's house. I got there at 3.20, he wasn't home so I slept in his room until he got back around 4.10pm. We talked a bit, I slept some more 'cos he was busy doing stuff, then at 5.30 Amin and Harris came for 2 mins, which was when Fahmi had to go to Brickfields with his father for a massage- darn! Anyway Amin, Harris and I went to Pusat Bandar D'sara to have a drink, Harris and I tapaued a donut from Dunkin Donuts- we went home at 7pm.

I came home, slept until 10.30, called Michelle- I was having network problems, so I talked to her for 5 mins then kena d/c, she called me back for 5 mins then kena d/c, then I called her back for a few more mins...she's got to go to the orphanage tomorrow to help ppl out, so our afternoon outing had to be cancelled. But that's okay, its very rare I hear the "I can't go out 'cos I got to help other ppl" excuse :) It's great that she's helping others. Most probably we'll go out on Thursday or something...anyway I went online and saw Yee Ying- she's in kolej tomorrow for a replacement class, so we're going out for lunch after that, probably Pyramid I guess..

Expectations for tomorrow:OS and DataComm in the morning, lunch with Yee Ying then project work in the RL until night, which is when I go to Choon's for Stargate. After that I gotta go Fahmi's house for a final farewell...
