Watched MiB and Godzilla this morning- I think I'll start taping MiB, its not bad. Today Godzilla fought a giant fungus whose tubuls were like giant beanstalks sprouting all over the place- not bad. After lunch I went to the RL (Michelle called while I was driving and we talked a bit about the ball & C++), copied some files to my zip, watched a Transfomers ep, then tried to do some work- hehe tak jadi since I got no mood. Instead I installed photoshop, made some thumbnails of my fave girls and updated my pitas with them. I called Harris and asked him to join me and Halina on Thursday, but he didn't want to- how odd. Oh, and someone ate the coffee biscuits I kept in the fridge- I saw the packet sitting in the pantry trashcan :( Another transformer ep later I left and went home.

I've had to stop my d/l activities for a while- no more hard disk space! Anyway, I pretty much lazed about at home the rest of the night...

Expectations for tomorrow:Busy day!Pagi- copy datacomm, petang- buat DBMS, malam- sister's boyfriend's birthday barbecue, though I don't think I'll stay long since I don't have ppl to talk to.

Saturday, September 8, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Went to Carrefour at 11 something, bought a pizza slice, some sausage rolls and coffee biscuits, then went to the RL. Plan for today: Do java work! But unfortunately I hit a major snag which stumped for 3 hours b4 I realised that if you're doing servlets, you MUST shutdown Tomcat/Jserv and restart it b4 it'll work- my god, so much wasted time....I did watch The Return of Optimus Prime though- canggih ep, I felt so happy! I also managed to d/l a short movie for Choon- pity him lar, he never seems to find what he wants with Direct Connect. The rest of the day was pretty much spent doing jsp- I ate all the food 'cept some of the cofee biscuits which I kept in the fridge- I was tempted to write Mr.Lim's name there, but figured that nobody would steal it at night/sunday morning.

I left to go Harris' place at 7, waited a while there b4 he drove us to Hartamas for Tariq's farewell dinner. I wasn't really hungry, and the look of the restoran made me a bit hesitant so I just ate cendol while the rest of them (about 12 ppl including Yu San) had their deserts- Harris had some noodles though. After that we all went to Tariq's house and watched half of The Princess Diaries (pirated vcd of course)- after the first disc Harris and I used Tariq's comp to check his mail..Harris watched what I assumed was an R rated clip, but fortunately my eyes were closed so I didn't see anything (whew!). Hani came at 11pm, everyone was on their way out by then- oh yah, I caught Yu San on Tariq's bed! Eeew! Hehehe...Harris and I went home too soon after, and I reached home just after midnight. I went online and was surprisingly bombarded by talkative ppl- Halina, Fahmi, Geraldine & Li Hao...couldn't tear myself away from the comp for a moment hehe...had fun kacauing Halina and racing with Geraldine to find the URL of a data-comm related website- darn, she found it first! I've made plans to go out with Halina on Thursday and Saturday, Geraldine says she wants to go for an outing with us too, though of course I'm sure she won't have the time. Eventually at 2 something in the morning I went to sleep- so much for an early night.

Expectations for tomorrow: Godzilla! Then work in the RL- aiyoh I haven't done DBMS yet! I'm gonna copy DataComm from LiHao, I give up alredi =(

Friday, September 7, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Woke up at 5.30am today - reached kolej at 6.14am to find that the sidegates were locked up, so I went thru the main entrance and parked in the staff section (isn't that great? Apparently there's only 1 guard on duty at that time of day :) I went to the RL, copied the d/l to my comp...unfortunately the stuff I've been d/l for Choon tak jadi, so I had to delete them :( I packed up my comp, talked to Weng Kee about DataComm- he gave me a brief explanation about some questions, and said he would explain more during the afternoon tute (which I can't go far anyway!) =( He talked for 30 mins, so I left kolej at 8am, since there would be a jam on the LDP near Sunway, I opted to go thru Subang, take the federal highway (major JAM) and then rejoin the LDP, taking the usual shortcut thru PJ. By the time I got home (stopping to buy nasi lemak first of course) it was 8.45am. I watched a couple of eps of Seinfeld, and slept for a while.

For once I vaguely recall the dream I had during that short nap- I can't remember where I was, in some room, probably Pui Mon's...we were sitting down on a couch/bed and she was tired and feeling kind of cold, so I tried to rub her hands and keep them warm, and she put her head on my shoulder and arm around me and took a nap herself- I felt happy knowing that she trusts me that much, and knew that we were just friends and nothing more...then I woke up. Of course I doubt this event would ever happen, though I hope I'll have/develop friendships like that in future. FYI: its very rare that ppl I know appear in my dream - they almost never do.

I had lunch with Harris and Amin after prayers, then went home, rested for a while, bathed and changed before going to fetch Yee Ying from her place. Since I had to turn down Harris and Amin's offer to go KLCC, Ying and I went to Megamall instead. There was an extremely long queue in front of the cinemas- apparently those are the ppl busy collecting free tickets from Star the other night- thank god! For ppl like Yee Ying and I there was no queue :) Unfortunately there are so many movies we want to watch, so making a choice was difficult- it came down to Rat Race, AI, Cats and Dogs and Rush Hour 2. 4 movies, 1 coin..hmm..we broke the movies into set A (Rat Race + AI) and set B- we were gonna toss a coin and narrow em down to one choice, but...I tak erti how to toss a coin, and neither did Yee Ying, so we resorted to a rather silly method to pick a movie (I'm such a goof)- we picked Rat Race which was at 7.10pm, so to bide time we had dinner at the food court, she had some sizzling mee, and I resisted the nasi dagang temptation and ate pineapple rice (I really got to try something new one day)...and peanut paste has been discontinued =( Now I'll never know what it tastes like. We went to the SEA Products Exhibition, not bad they had handphones, cars, 2nd hand books and some other stuff to see. There was an offer for 017 which I was tempted to buy, but I have to think about it first, since I would have to pay monthly bills (queues!) if I bought 017. We also talked to the LASIK lady, it'll cost me RM5900 to do my eyes, but I'm scared of the surgery- I'll be conscious, and my eyelids will be kept open with a speculem- ouch! 20 minutes, sitting there staring into the laser? Especially for someone like me, whose eyes tend to dart about. Oh well, if I start saving now...hmm..in about 10 years time I can afford it heh.

The movie was really really GOOD- Yee Ying and I laughed a lot, I haven't enjoyed a movie in the cinema this much b4 =) After the movie we went to the IT Centre to discover that brick walls were blocking the passages to most of the shops- only a few shops were left now, the rest were sealed off. When I asked one of the shopkeepers about it, he said F.O.S. had bought the space. Wow, that's gonna be a big store! I managed to buy my CD-R's and then we went to look for pretzels, but it was too late and the store was closing. I sent her home, came home, phoned Tariq and Harris, then did some comp work.

Expectations for tomorrow:Lunch with Michelle? Maybe, but I think she's going to be tired after tonight's ball. Besides that I'll be in the RL as usual, and Tariq's farewell dinner in Hartamas.

Thursday, September 6, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

The ulcer on my gums (which I've had for the past few days) hasn't improved- apparently putting salt on it doesn't help at all, plus there's a slight swelling in my right eye, so I decided to go the doctor in Bangsar, along Lorong Maarof at 7am. I've never been there b4, but he's quite nice and it is more convenient than going to my previous doctor in Bandar Sri Damansara. He gave me some ointment for my eye, and some stuff to gargle for my ulcer, then I went to kolej with my computer.

I started the long process of copying d/l to my computer- GB's of data! To pass time I went to see Weng Kee but he wasn't around :( plus I couldn't find the classroom for the Datacomm class. I realised that I needed a cotton bud to apply the ointment to my eye, so I asked around and luckily Mr.Gordon had one! Yay! Though it felt odd putting stuff on my eyeI talked to Mr.Lim for a bit, then saw Choon Ling walking around and we spent the rest of the morning in the RL- Joe joined us at one point. I felt very discouraged after trying to do the DataComm tutes- the questions are badly phrased, plus the answers can't be found in books or online! I hate the way this subject (and OS) is handled- I don't expect this kind of caplang education from Monash. Oh Geraldine joined us for about an hour at 12, she read some of our pitas, kita berbual sikit- aiyah so sad lah her, she's so stressed out over DataComm. I watched Scary Movie 2 instead of doing work(downloaded for free! Muahahaha) and some Friends eps. Yu San came at 2.30 and she, Choon and I went to Pyramid to eat lunch at McD's. Ok, she doesn't look like Li Li at all- I'll even put Li Li's pic here for all to see....BUT she does behave like Li Li (when Li Li is excited) the way she chatters and ... ocassionally. After that we saw her brother- looks like a shrunken Aik Yong- exactly! Another pic to put up ;) Then we went back to the RL, loitered until Terence came, the he and I went to look for Donald so that Terence could sign out the keys, but Donald wasn't around so I camped out in front of his office until 5.15pm which was when he came back- I signed the keys over to Terence until Monday. The new system we have is terrible- I can't keep the keys any longer than 3 days- after that someone else MUST take the keys for 1-3 days, then I can take it over again (for 3 days). Since I'm normally the only one who is free to take over the keys, its a rather dumb system. After that we watched another Friends ep, did some work- Joe and Terence went back, Choon and I stayed until 8 something which was when HK came to pick us up and go Carrefour to tapau BK. We all stayed in the RL until almost midnight, then I went home leaving my comp behind.

Expectations for tomorrow: Take back my comp in the morning, go out with Yee Ying in the evening.

Wednesday, September 5, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

I seem to be writing in 2-day blocks now..hehe I'll try to get back on track...

Woke up late again (I gotta start sleeping early!) and reached kolej at 9.30am, went straight to the RL to check on my d/l. I copied out some files to my zip, Ian dropped by and asked me to go for class( there was only 5 of our gang in the lecture! Plus all the juniors of course...) but I opted not to so he went back to the class. Kah Wai came at 9.50am, camped out with me for a bit and we watched Space Balls, an excellent parody based on Star Wars hahaha...good show. Joe, Ian and Darren joined us in the RL at 10, we watched the show (Kah Wai went home to sleep) though I went to the foyer to see Michelle at 10.40- she was rushing assignment with her sister- so much work! After talking to them for a bit I went back upstairs to find Ian alone- the others had gone for AI lecture. I watched the rest of the movie, copied more stuff to my zip, jalan-jalan sikit, then came back and hung around the RL. Eventually the others came back and we went for DBMS class at 1.10pm. The first part was okay, though the 2nd half was too much for me and I had to half-sleep thru it. I managed to see William and Martin during the break though, that's good since I don't see them often enough.

After class we went to the library for a few mins, then went to the RL for a bit b4 going to the kantin for lunch. Tracy and Kah Wai went home, so only me, Ian, Darren and Joe ate a late lunch. After that we went to Indah so HK could drive us out for a game of CS- we went back to kolej to pick Sue-Yi (how could she resist a game of CS?) and went to the cafe. I think by the time we got playing it was 4.30pm. The first map siege was really bad for Choon, HK, Joe and me- we got beat up by Ian and Darren, with Sue-Yi providing cover fire hehe...after that we played Vertigo, where they lost badly haha..then we played Office which was my favorite map- lots of fun tricks there ;) Finally we played Aztec, which was quite good for me too- hey Sue-Yi getting quite good with Darren's pointers :P We ate a small meal at a restoran nearby then I followed Choon home to watch Drew Carey Show and Whose Line- quite good shows! I went to the RL, phoned Halina, icqed Mon- wow the speed is fantastic at night- I was d/l stuff at 90k/sec! Anyway I went home around 10.30pm, started copying from my zips, slept for a bit, woke up, copied more stuff, then woke up again - I repeated the process about 4 more times b4 finally switching off the lights etc. and sleeping at 4, just to wake up at 6am feeling surprisingly refreshed.

Expectations for tomorrow: Camp out in the RL whole day. Finish DataComm. Hopefully Sue-Yi won't ask for CS again :)

Tuesday, September 4, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

I woke up late thanks to last night's late outing at Kah Wai's hehe- woke up at 9am! I really wanted to go for the DataComm tute too...:( I rushed to kolej and reached at 10.15am, dumped my stuff in the RL and went to the foyer to talk to Michelle at 10.30- she was busy doing her assignment, but I hung around until my DataComm class at 11am. Err...I can't remember what went on during the lecture :( After lecture I called Yee Ying and met up with her at the Finance Counter, we walked to our cars at Indah- she had to fetch her sis from school and had to go home straight, but she dropped me off at the sidegate on the way (I had to get an umbrella from my car anyway). I thought Choon had gone out for lunch with the others but I looked for them in the comp.lab anyway- no luck. I was about to give up on lunch and go back to the RL when I bumped into Chin Heng- he was looking for a lunch buddy too so we went to the kantin together, bought our food and guess what happened? The other engineers (Bel, Wen Yung, Pei Shi, etc.) were at one table, and Tracy, Kah Wai and Choon were at another- haiya! I ate with Chin Heng and the engineers- Dr.Lan joined us for a bit, then after lunch they all went for class and I went back to the RL.

I worked in the RL for a bit, then Choon came back around 2pm, I felt like going home, but then Zheng Chi called and said his car got towed- I drove him to MPSJ, he wanted to find his car and drive it off but of course it wasn't there. We went thru the usual red tape and had to pay his fine (RM134 with rayuan) then went to find the car park where they keep towed cars. The map MPSJ gave us was WRONG so we wasted 40 mins looking around the Taylors area- eventually we found it was that carpark in front of Ravi's...why couldn't those MPSJ guys just tell us that? Buang masa aje....

I went back to the RL, hung out with Choon, Sue-Yi and Darren- Zheng Chi came back and payed me the RM60 I loaned him plus an extra RM10 (apparently the MPSJ guys had damaged his car and paid him RM30 to leave the area- what jerks!)...hmm..non-halal money, perhaps I'll use it to belanja someone heh..he had to rush off then, so I continued hanging out with the others in the RL until 6 something, which was when Choon, Darren, Sue-Yi and I went to eat dinner at Tuna Twist (yummy!) before going off to play CS for an hour- Darren and Sue-Yi beat us up bad! After that I went home to watch Stargate, then puttered a bit with the comp. b4 going to sleep..

Fave 'lil girl of the day: Sue-Yi! 'Cos she's so cute =)

Expectations for tomorrow:Seriously hope I can get some work done tomorrow :(

Monday, September 3, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Note:Today's and yesterday's log were written on the 4th, 'cos I've been too tired to berpita on the right day..

Woke up early, went to kolej to check on my d/l- I skipped DataComm to work on my tutes, Ian and Terence joined me as well, though Terence (like the rest of us) was waiting for someone to finish question 2 of OS. We puttered around with our work, HK and Choon eventually joined us at 11, which was when I talked to Geraldine about the tute and ended up following her and Justin to the kantin (well I lagged behind to kacau Jason at MUSA and Chelim & Nicky Chua at the kantin)- lunch wasn't good, it was all tofu, and not the nice dishes either :(. Anyway I escorted Geraldine to the comp.lab at almost 12, then went upstairs to the RL to join the others- nobody could do that question 2!! I worked on my DataComm until 1pm, which was when we all went for the OS prac.

The prac was ok I guess, though Mylini is getting a bit stressed out by our slacker behaviour (esp. HK hehe)..after the prac I copied the remaining DataComm tute work from Joe, handed it in, stopped by the RL for a few mins, then went to Bangsar. I had my haircut- not so good though, since Vasu was busy with another customer. I went home, scanned the pics for Zheng Chi, emailed them, phoned Michelle, took my bath- then it was time for me to go HK's house so we could meet Darren, Sue-Yi and Choon at the SS2 pasar malam. HK and I walked from his house, and after a few misdirections, we met up with the others. Tracy and Kah Wai came a short while later and we met them in front of KFC, returned HK's book, then started our rounds of the pasar. We saw some good VCDs (3 for RM10) and software, but we decided to make a complete round b4 buying- and what happened? The stalls were gone! Partly because of the big MPPJ trucks parked nearby, and the fact that it was starting to drizzle. The result: the pasar malam disappeared very very quickly, much earlier than normal. We decided to eat at our usual stalls, it rained a bit, but there was enough cover from the giant umbrellas. Since Sue-Yi had to be back at the hostel by midnight cyber-cafing was out of the question, instead we all went to Kah Wai's house.

Kah Wai's got a great place- the interior design is very nice. Sue-Yi and Darren played Rally games upstairs while the rest of us watched Friends. After the show was over I went upstairs and watched them race a bit, then the others joined us- Tracy was so tired she was half-asleep, Choon and HK were busy reading a book about guns, and Kah Wai, Sue-Yi, Darren and I played around with the cars a bit- what fun! We managed to play 3 player NFS with Sue driving, me signaling and honking, and Darren navigating ;) Kah Wai showed us some stunts, I tried my hand at NFS, what fun! Then Tracy went to sleep in the bed, Choon slept a bit, then Sue-Yi and I played Max Payne haha! She controlled the mouse (aiming and shooting) while I moved the guy around and changed weapons- lots of fun, we even almost won the game! But it was almost 3 am so it was time to go home...

Oh today's fave girl is Sue-Yi!

Expectations for tomorrow: Hopefully stay back and do work until late, then watch Stargate at home.
