Sunday, September 16, 2001 (11:18 p.m.)

No Godzilla today- SEA games took over TV3 this morning :( I need my weekly dose of heroism from that big lizard ;) I went out with Dad for lunch- we stopped at a h/p shop to ask them about changing my number...1 hour later we ended up buying me a new Nokia 3310 and a 012 phone number (012-2807730)...quite surprising attitude from Dad. After lunch I went kolej, talked to Wheel Jack about datacomm- he can't do it either, and if a senior can't do it, then its not worth doing ;) I started work on OS- turns out my postings on the messageboard got the Aussie lecturer angry hehe...I didn't know that the delay in our labs was caused by our Malaysian staff (Mylini & Hiew)- now I have to redirect my annoyed feelings towards them ;) Terence joined me for a while, then at 7 something I went with Choon to Pyramid to buy CDR's, and saw DVD-R and DVD-RW for sale! Wow, its finally here! The guy said the drive costs RM3000, so I'm hoping to buy it after my Honours year heh. We had dinner at McD's, went back to kolej, lepak a bit, then went home at 9.30pm. There was a major storm all the way- very very bad..there was even an accident I passed minutes after it happened :( I got home, called Halina and talked a bit- hopefully if I can finish OS tonight and Mylini lets me skip class tomorrow I can see Halina right after lunch :)

Expectations for tomorrow:DataComm lecture in the morn, lunch in kolej, then Halina's house for the rest of the day.

Saturday, September 15, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Lazed about in the morning, then went to kolej to copy datacomm lecture notes, then got back around lunchtime. I was too tired to stay back in kolej today:( I tried to do datacomm, then watched star trek, then tried datacomm again- urgh banyak susah lar wei :( In fact it was so tough that I gave up and decided to watch the football match with Harris- SEA games finals! Malaysia vs. Thailand! We had to rush though, and we had to take my car some more :( I hate driving at 100kph in my car, its not nice to treat it that way. The match was pretty much thailand attacking and Malaysia defending- until the final 2 minutes, when our goalie made a big error (my highschool friends would call it a Kamal tactic) and lost the game 1-0. The fans were so angry! We wanted to avoid tolls after the match, and took a long old lonely road to Sg.Buloh...anyway the rest of the tale is quite long, but suffice to say the whole outing was an experience- by the time I got home it was 1.20am.

Expectations for tomorrow: Watch Godzilla, go kolej after lunch to do OS and Maybe datacomm.

Friday, September 14, 2001 (10:39 p.m.)

Lazed about the whole morning, watching tv shows and such. Went for prayers, had lunch with Harris, went a few places, then dropped by 1 Utama sekejap, then went home. I worked on Group Task 2 of OS Lab 4 and finished b4 7pm, sent it to Hero, HK and Ferdy...not bad, we managed to finish it though once again not as a team hehe...Ferdy did Group Task 1, and I'm not sure when we'll have time to get together and sort thru our code. I managed to watch 3 eps of MacGyver today, looks like I have to d/l more...I called Halina at 9pm- she has to teman her mum to KLCC besok, and most probably Sunday she got stuff with Harris & gang, so I guess we'll have to postpone our photo album viewing to Monday. Its just as well I suppose since now I can spend tomorrow doing DataComm at kolej, and hopefully work on OS Lab 5 (IF it is out early tomorrow hehe...the Australian OS lecturer is very inefficient)...we yakked for a bit, then I lazed about some more..gee what an uneventful day ;)

Expectations for tomorrow: Work in kolej sepanjang hari.

Thursday, September 13, 2001 (09:49 p.m.)

Woke up at 9am, watched Seinfeld & Drew Carey Show b4 going to BSN and eating some stuff from MeidiYa...lazed about at home until 12.20, which was when Harris called to ajak me keluar bowling, of course I was reluctant to go since I don't bowl- Halina called while I was talking to Harris, so I ended our conversation ASAP and called her back...I arranged to fetch her at 1.30pm, which I did, and we parked my car near the Taman Jaya LRT station, and took LRT to KLCC.

Lots of movies playing today- we picked AI at 3pm, and used Halina's complimentary tickets- if anyone is interested they cost RM7 per ticket, so let me know if you want some. We had a quick lunch b4 the movie- well actually I only drank some milo since I wasn't hungry. The movie was ok, but a bit draggy- 2.5 hours! After the movie we jalan-jalan sikit to see what new shops there were, I tapaued a Maple Pretzel then we took LRT back, I sent her home and managed to get back b4 Maghrib. I watched Friends, napped for a bit then went online for a while. I'm so sleepy now, I think I'll nap a bit more hehe.

Expectations for tomorrow:Finish up some work in the morning, go for prayers, then some other work after that.

Wednesday, September 12, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Got to kolej at 9.30am again today..I'm so tired :( Choon, Ian, Joe, Giant and I camped in the RL talking about the WTC event and watching streaming videos until 10am, which was when we went for OOSE lab- we tried to study C++ but we spent quite a bit of time talking about WTC again- very distracting lor! Michelle looked very worn out, she spent most of the night watching CNN and got only 45mins sleep :( Eventually the rest of the CSE gang came and we went for the 1pm test- it was hard but I'm quite sure I passed (at least). I left the test early and went to the RL to finish up my DBMS stuff (minor stuff just output files)- Mary and Ian came too, and eventually some of the others as well. I printed out the stuff in the comp.labs and handed up the assignment to Mr.Lim, signed over the keys to Terence then lepak in the RL until almost 5pm, which was when we all went home. Oh, I bumped into Taxi Girl at the sidegate, she asked me how I was and we talked about her LAN for a couple of minutes.

I slept from 6 to 8.30pm, watched WhoseLine, ate dinner then Halina called at 9 something- she has to follow her mum to Selayang in the morning, and would only be back at 12pm, so I think I'll probably fetch her at 1.30pm, drive to KLCC by 2pm, eat a late lunch?, watch movie, jalan-jalan until 6 something then rush back. Sounds like a plan...I icqed with William and Li Li, surfed a bit, eventually I d/c at 1am and went to sleep...

Expectations for tomorrow:Do work in the morning, then KLCC for the remainder of the day.

Tuesday, September 11, 2001 (11:59 p.m.)

Woke up late today- missed 9 am class again! I reached kolej around 9.30, camped in the RL with Ian and Terence doing DBMS, Ian's a good tutor- at least I managed to do almost all the DBMS questions on my own, with a few pointers from him here and there when I got stuck. Choon came at 10, Joe joined us at 12 and Geraldine dropped by for a short while too b4 going to library. HK couldn't get his DB2 to work at home (IBM makes very problematic software :( ) so he had to come to kolej to work on the DBMS. I managed to finish it at 2.30pm, then bummed around in the RL until almost 4, which was when Ian, Choon, Kah Wai and I went to the kantin for lunch. We tapaued food for Terence and How Khang, I bumped into Geraldine outside the RL, can't remember how, but I ended up agreeing to send her home- she had a few errands to run first, so I went to the RL.

A few mins later, Geraldine realised she lost her wallet- we walked around looking for it (it wasn't in the toilet, classroom, RL or library), she called her house and luckily it turns out she left it at home- whew! We stopped at MUSA on the way back- saw my sister, Justin and Zheng Chi and took a look at ball pictures too- then Geraldine and I walked to my car at Indah and I think by the time we reached Federal it was 5.20pm- still ok no jam yet. We took a detour to see Halina's house, I even drove the route twice to make sure I knew it well since I'm seeing her on Thursday. Then I sent Geraldine home- turns out she lives at these apartments I nearly moved into this semester- wow, we could have been neighbours hehe ;) By the time I got home it was almost 7pm, so I slept until 9.10, realised that I was missing Stargate so I quickly got the tape recording- darn, I missed 15 mins!

Anyway after Stargate I called Michelle, put petrol in my car, Choon called then I read some C++ until Ian called at 11pm telling me about the WTC incident- I know this sounds silly but I didn't even know where the WTC was. Since the tv was occupied I went online and read more about it- friends were icqing me too- even Tuck Yew! All flights were grounded, which means Halina's dad won't be coming home on Friday- I wanted to call her but it was already late- luckily she came online and we chatted, and once she d/c at 12.30am, I phoned her and we talked until 1 something. Then I studied C++ until 2am, watched CNN until almost 3am, then slept.

Expectations for tomorrow: I'll try to study C++ and hope I can pass the exam....

Monday, September 10, 2001 (09:25 p.m.)

Tried to do DataComm in the RL this morning- tak jadi, so I tried OS tute and managed to do one question. At 9am I decided to go for half of DataComm, then talked to Geraldine a bit b4 going to the RL to join HK, Ian and Choon to do DataComm tutes...Joe joined us at 11, then Geraldine dropped by for a few mins, and while she, Justin and several other BusIT students were complaining to Weng Ke I tapaued some excellent kantin food to the RL...it inspired the others to go eat at Medan, leaving me and Joe behind. I managed to find LiHao in the other RL with the seniors, so I got some answers for Algae- yay! Then I tried to do some DataComm, Mary came, the others came back,Terence came then we all went for the OS tute. Tute was ok I guess, after class we went back upstairs, then I went to MUSA, bumped into Geraldine, Zheng Chi and Justin, looked at some ball photos, then went upstairs with Geraldine to the library, dropping off her bag at the RL first. I stayed in the RL for a few mins b4 joining her and ZC though, and we managed to get some work done. She got tired and followed ZC back, so I went back to the RL and joined Terence (the others ciao-ed), did some DataComm with Choon, then pretty much camped there until 5.15pm which was when I called Halina and spoke to her for 30 mins (ouch! that cost me $$)..she can't make it for thursday or wednesday night, so I guess I'll have to settle for just Saturday then.

Ian, Darren, Sue-Yi, Kah Wai and Yunita came back and stayed for a short while, before going to the comp.lab to do DBMS. I tried to use Access to do the work- not bad at first, but I was really tired and almost felt like skipping the BBQ. I consoled myself with an ep of Transformers, then went to Indah (I bumped into Raj on the way, hope he's doing alrite with CMP). Jason was there of course, and so was Wen Yung, Coreen, Tehr Kuen, Sunny, several MUSA ppl and others whom I don't know- not an overly big or small gathering. My sis or Bel wasn't there though, they were probably coming later. I gave Jason his gift, then Terence came down to collect keys from me, then I went home, stopping at TMC to pick up some stuff.

Expectations for tomorrow:Long day in the RL doing DBMS AND studying C++, yikes!
